Overview

Myths Mountain & Terai (Annapurna, Seti River, Chitwan National Park), This is one of the most exciting trip designed by our expert for family and friends as a discovery combination visit of Kathmandu Valley cultural heritage sight and Pokhara to Terai. Pokhara is one of the most famous place for its spectacular view of Mount Fishtail and Annapurna. The trip is combined with two days of Trekking in mid west Annapurna region exploring local Gurung Villages, exclusive Seti River rafting and to Chitwan Jungle Safari.

Bandipur, a journey of some 2 hours through the country side. Bandipur was established as an important point of trade by Newars, traders from Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley who were chased after being conquered in 1768 by the king of the Shah dynasty, Prithvi Narayan Shah. After having lunch at Bandipur, we start off trek to Dhamal Danda, 3 mountain lodge.

This is an easy three hours trek to Dhamal Danda. You have the amazing views of the Himalayas including three 8000m peak Manasalu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and surrounding valley.

Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival KTM 1300m, transfer to Hotel

    • Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, you’ll be met at the airport by our representative.

      There’s a short drive to the Gokarna Forest Resort, our peaceful haven on the outskirts of Kathmandu. This is your hotel base before and after trek. Your program on the hotel
      will be on Bed & breakfast plan.

      You’ll be served with welcome drink and will start briefing about your programs and collect necessary documents.

      Gokarna Forest Resort is located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former private Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature. Further on exotic Forest View cottage rooms are set beside a century old restored Hunter’s lodge. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for a few days of golf, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, enchanting forest walks, and time close to nature.

  • Day 02 Kathmandu full day sightseeing

    • After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colourful markets.

      With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you so we will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time.

      The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit:

      • Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is one of the three ancient royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley which has well preserved its medieval aspect till date and it is also best known for the wooden artifacts.

      • Patan Durbar Square also known as Lalitpur is best known for its rich cultural heritage particularly its tradition of arts and crafts. The majority of people here follow Buddhism, so we find more than 1,200 Buddhist monuments of various shapes and sizes scattered in and around the city.

  • Day 03 Flight : Kathmandu – Pokhara

    • Before heading to airport for the flight to Pokhara, we do a short visit of Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath is one of the most important temples in South Asia dedicated to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva whereas Bouddhanath is a wonderful Buddhist site centred on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. The flight duration to Pokhara will be 25 minutes, this flight offers spectacular views of the chains of Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna.

      Pokhara has become a major tourist destination since the advent of trekking in Nepal. It is set in the heart of a large subtropical valley. Pokhara valley also has a beautiful lake, Phewa Lake. It’s the largest that borders the city to the southwest. Lake side is the heart of the tourism industry in Pokhara. In the afternoon after lunch, we will visit around lake side and then hire a small rowing boat to explore this beautiful lake. Back to Hotel.

  • Day 04 Drive to Bandipur , trek to Dhamal Chaap

    • Early morning, drive to Sarangkot. It is the viewpoint for sunrise which offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Himalayas: Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, Lamjung Himal and more. After the visit to Sarangkot, back to hotel for the breakfast and then transfer to Bandipur, a journey of some 2 hours through the country side.   • Day 05 Dhamal Chaap – Gurung Village Excursion

    • After the breakfast, excursion around the Gurung village. We will explore the local Gurung tribal village which is rarely visited by any foreigners. We will have tea in a local house and watch the villages as they brew their rice and millet wines.

  • Day 06 Trek to Seti River Camp 270m

    • After breakfast we begin our trek through unspoilt countryside to the Seti River Camp. The walk allows us magnificent views from the ridgeline. We also hike through surrounding forests and remote nearby villages where no other travel companies go. We then descend to the river bank where our camp is located. After our hike, we can take a dip in the river. Lunch is at the camp. The afternoon is free to explore the landscaped gardens, riverbank, or just relax in a hammock or tree house. Evenings are spent around an open fire of driftwood, at this unique safari-style river camp.

  • Day 07 Rafting and drive to Chitwan 150m

    • After having breakfast, we will have a briefing from our rafting team and then we gear up for it. Floating down the river gives us a chance to see village life along the banks as well as the abundant variety of birds.

      The Seti River has five rapids of Class II. It takes us almost 3 hours to reach Gaighat where we find our vehicle which will transfer us to the Kasara Resort “Simple Luxury Jungle Resort”, exterior to Chitwan National Park.

  • Day 08 Full day Jungle activities

    • Whole day jungle activities inside the Chitwan National Park: elephant ride in search of rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger (if you are lucky), deer, birds, monkeys… canoeing in the Rapti river, walk in the jungle, elephant ride or jeep safari etc. And during the evening time, cultural dance of the ethnic group Tharu who are the origin of Terai.

  • Day 09 Flight: Chitwan - Kathmandu, transfer to hotel

    • After the breakfast in the Resort, we will be transferred to the airport and take a 20 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll transfer to the hotel. Then you’ve free time to relax or head into the city. We find most people want to simply unwind and enjoy the hotel facilities – whatever you choose, we’ll help!
  • Day 10 Transfer to airport for final departure

    • Final departure depending on your flight schedules.

Trip Info

Recommended periods

Spring: Mid of April-June. Come and visit when the rhododendrons and alpine flowers are in full bloom. Expect clear skies and sunshine in the mornings with some light cloud cover later in the day

Autumn / Winter: Mid of September – December. October can be busy, but at this time of year the weather is normally very stable except crisp sunny days and cold evenings.
